Fleetwood Mac announce Mirage Tour ’82 live album
Fleetwood Mac have announced the forthcoming live album, Mirage Tour '82 which features 22 tracks, including six previously unreleased recordings.
Celebrating their thirteenth studio album, the band performed two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles in October 1982. The six previously unheard recordings include "Don’t Stop", "Dreams", "Oh Well", "Never Going Back Again", "Landslide" and "Sara".
A statement on the forthcoming album reads: “In September 1982, Fleetwood Mac embarked on a 31-city US tour in support of Mirage, the band’s fourth consecutive multiplatinum album and third number one in America. Both shows at The Forum were recorded, and Mirage Tour ’82 combines songs from both into a single concert experience".
Stevie Nicks recently discussed the future of Fleetwood Mac performing again, following the passing of Christine McVie in November 2022 after a "short illness".
"You can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend that I spent more time with than any of my other best friends outside of Fleetwood Mac. Christine was my best friend. When I think about Taylor Swift’s song ‘You’re on Your Own, Kid’ and the line ‘you always have been,’ it was like, that was Christine and I," Nicks said to Vulture. "We were on our own in that band. We always were. We protected each other. Who am I going to look over to on the right and have them not be there behind that Hammond organ? When she died, I figured we really can’t go any further with this. There’s no reason to.”
