Fleet Foxes release new Wildcat documentary song "A Sky Like I've Never Seen"
Fleet Foxes have shared a new track titled "A Sky Like I’ve Never Seen" featuring Tim Bernardes, which was written for the forthcoming documentary Wildcat.
"A Sky Like I've Never Seen" is Fleet Foxes' first outing since featuring on Post Malone's "Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol" in June, and was created alongside Brazil's Tim Bernardes for the upcoming documentary Wildcat, which follows a British soldier in the Amazon Rainforest as he fosters an orphaned baby ocelot after meeting an American scientist.
Stereogum reports that Robin Pecknold said of the song, "I was inspired by how the film employed unconventional means to arrive at something universally moving, and was struck by all the collisions inherent in the film’s conceit - between species, between hemispheres, between individuals, between the psychological and the natural. In hotel rooms and in borrowed studios, on time stolen from a world tour, I put this song together. It was an honour to be asked to make a song that could serve as an end-cap to this unique and affecting story and to collaborate with Tim again."
The band's latest album Shore arrived in March 2021.
Fleet Foxes' "A Sky Like I've Never Seen" featuring Tim Bernardes is out now. Wildcat will be available on Amazon Prime Video from 30 December.
