Flamingods' Karthik Poduval unveils new Mera Bhai single, "Work Ain't Nuthin'"

“I was in the midst of touring Flamingods, juggling work projects, and trying to write a Mera Bhai record, so this was a super quick jam that came to life about 15 minutes before I had to leave for a Flamingods tour," he explains. "I remember being sat in the tour bus, sharing the video of this on socials and people went absolutely nuts over it. I guess I was really channeling the hustle that I was in, and people really connected with that sentiment.”

Subconsciously channelling the plate spinning grind that most creatives today find themselves in, Mera Bhai felt it was important to honour the shared sentiment and give that tension a sense of release. “The creative hustle feels harder than ever, everyone needs that sense of creative release more than ever...”

Last year Mera Bhai intentionally took a year out of touring to focus on being in the studio. Ironically, alongside this insular year, he benefited from an explosion in his following across socials and playlists. “I really needed to take a step back from everything after a decade plus of touring with the band, and have time and space to reconnect with what’s important to me, whilst still sharing it in a way that feels authentic and uncompromising. ”
