Fenne Lily shares new song "Dawncolored Horse"
Fenne Lily has unveiled her new song "Dawncolored Horse" as the second outing from her Big Picture album.
"Dawncolored Horse" follows Fenne Lily's January lead single "Lights Light Up", and got its title from the Richard Brautigan poem The Horse That Had A Flat Tire.
Lily says, "[Brautigan] talks about the woman he loves as being a "breathing castle". I truly don’t know what that means, but for me he’s distilled a feeling of absolute closeness. When you know someone so well it feels like you’re almost living inside them. That can be claustrophobic, but before it’s too much, it’s incredible."
Big Picture will follow Lily's 2020 second album BREACH. The album was written at her Bristol flat, and was co-produced with Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, Kevin Morby, Snail Mail) at his Durham studio. Big Picture also features contributions from Christian Lee Hutson (guitar), Katy Kirby (vocals), and was mixed by Melina Duterte of Jay Som.
"Dawncolored Horse" is out now. Fenne Lily's Big Picture album will be released via Dead Oceans on 14 April, and is available to pre-order now. She'll play London's Islington Assembly Hall on 20 April. Visit fenne-lily.com for tickets.
