FEET unveil new single, "Goodbye (So Long, Farewell)"
FEET have released their brand new single, "Goodbye (So Long, Farewell)", as the latest to be lifted from their forthcoming album, Make It Up.
"Goodbye (So Long, Farewell) details a band trip back from France on the Ol Calais express, surrounded by returning holidayers, lorry drivers and other sea faring folk” explains lead singer George Haverson. “This trip has always carried a lot of sentiment for me. The murky waters of the channel reflecting a return back to your former self, gone is the ‘touring musician’, demoted once again to a ‘musician’. You’ve eaten Europe’s chips and it’s now time to hit traffic. ‘Goodbye’ is an ode to that loss but is also a fond embrace of whatever is waiting upon your return.”
The track follows previous singles, "Sit Down", "The Real Thing" and "Why Would I Lie".
The aptly-named song is released on the same day that the band have started a crowdfunder to help recoup funds to replace their musical gear after having one of their cars broken into.
"In the early hours this morning one of our cars was smashed into in North London and our gear stolen from the boot. Not sure whether to laugh or cry about the irony of it all since “Goodbye, So Long, Farewell” is out today," they wrote in a statement. "We’ve setup a GoFundMe and we’d be so grateful for any donations however big or small. If anybody happens to see any of this gear up for sale anywhere please let us know." The band add that they have "35 shows over the next two months [they'd] be extremely appreciative of any help to make this happen".
Make It Up is set for release on 14 June via Submarine Cat Records, and is available to pre-order now. To contribute to their GoFundMe, visit gofundme.com.
