Fans speculate status of Wembley shows as Taylor Swift cancels The Eras Tour in Vienna due to suspected terrorist threat

Yesterday, it was revealed that government officials had discovered plans of a suspected terrorist threat due to strike at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium, where Taylor Swift was due to perform.

Three people have been arrested for planning attacks on the stadium. A statement from the event's organisers reads: "Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone's safety." They added that "all tickets will be automatically refunded within the next 10 working days."

Fans are now speculating about the status of the forthcoming shows at Wembley Arena, which mark the final leg of the EU/UK The Eras Tour. Just over a week ago, there was an attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, where three children were killed, along with eight others injured. Tensions are currently high in the UK with riots taking place all over the country between the EDL and anti-facist protesters.

Quoting a post of an article by Variety, which discusses measures that might make the Wembley shows more secure, one person said: "as for now london shows are happening and they’re making sure to make wembley even more safe for people, i’m sure taylor’s team and police know exactly what to do right now so please don’t make people more anxious or scared". Another person added: "wembley is swarming with police and security everywhere! they are experienced & know how to deal with things."

RAYE, Suki Waterhouse, Holly Humberstone and Maisie Peters recently joined the bill for Taylor Swift's second leg of London shows on The Eras Tour taking place from 15-20 August.

The Eras Tour comes to an end on 8 December in Vancouver.
