Fans react to Reading and Leeds 2023 latest line-up additions: "Did someone say TikTok fest?"
More names have been added to the Reading and Leeds 2023 line-up today, including Cordae, Mae Stephens and Dreya Mac.
Reading and Leeds 2023 have added more names to the lineup, including Cordae, Mae Stephens, Dreya Mac, Venbee, Mothica, Fousheé, and Joey Valence & Brae.
The new names will play the 2023 festivals with headliners Billie Eilish, The Killers, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, Foals and Imagine Dragons, as well as The Murder Capital, Arlo Parks, Loyle Carner, Wet Leg, Central Cee, slowthai, Bicep, MUNA, Baby Queen, Ethel Cain, The Last Dinner Party, and more.
Festival line-up additions will always come with some resistance, and Reading and Leeds have always been one of the first to come under fire – most recently in 2022 when they replaced headliners Rage Against the Machine with The 1975, and in 2021 when Queens of the Stone Age were replaced with Biffy Clyro.
One Instagram user asked, "Why's it getting worse?", whilst another agreed and pleaded with the festival to stop: "Stop adding acts the line up is getting worse. Just admit AM has skinted you".
Whilst there are a few positive reactions to the line-up additions, with people noticing that they have reverted back to their old poster format, one comment in particular stands out, and it's hard to say whether this is a positive or negative – "Did someone say tiktok fest?"
Reading and Leeds will take place 25-27 August. Visit readingandleedsfestival.com for tickets and more information.
