Falle Nioke signs to Eat Your Own Ears Recordings and shares new track, "Weatherman"
Eat Your Own Ears has announced their latest signing, Falle Nioke who has released the brand new single, "Weatherman".
Eat Your Own Ears Recordings, a label formed by London-based music promoters Eat Your Own Ears (who work with the likes of Four Tet, Caribou, Charlotte Adigéry, Mount Kimbie, Michelle Gurevich, Anna Calvi, RIDE, Sylvan Esso and more), have also announced a limited edition double vinyl compilation featuring EP 1 and EP 2 for the first time on vinyl, alongside a brand new track from Guinean musician Falle Nioke as well as a hidden gems from recently reformed shoegazers Cranes, and Caribou.
This exclusive compilation brings together the diverse sounds that have defined Eat Your Own Ears over the past two decades. The limited double vinyl includes tracks from RIDE (a re-work of their seminal track "Vapour Trail" from The Cure’s Robert Smith), Four Tet ("Scythe Master", written specially for this compilation) and Caribou (hidden gem "Sunsesame" on vinyl for the very first time), plus many more.
“It’s been a long time coming... but finally we have our own Eat Your Own Ears limited double vinyl, it feels pretty special to have an actual physical record out and not just a digital file, a representation of some of the artists we have worked with and become friends with over 20 years. Also something that has been collaboratively put together with two people that have very much been an important part of Eat Your Own Ears over those years, Lucy Pitkethly (co-curator) and Tom Phillips (art director and designer)," says Tom Baker
“As a passionate vinyl collector, I can’t wait to hold the finished record in my hands and see the artwork and music come to life," adds Pitkethly. "Curating a collection of brilliant tracks from some of the amazing artists we've worked with over many years has been an absolute joy, and being able to include a new track by our latest signing, Falle Nioke, marks an exciting new chapter for the label.”
