F*cked Up announce new album One Day and share title-track
Canada's Fucked Up have shared news of their forthcoming album One Day, and have delivered the title-track to accompany the announcement.
"One Day" marks the band's first release since their Oberon EP arrived earlier this month, and is teamed with a Colin Medley-directed video.
The new song will appear on Fucked Up's One Day album, which will follow 2018's Dose Your Dreams and their March compilation Do All Words Can Do. The forthcoming album is the group's shortest of their career, having been written and recorded in the space of just one day (hence the title).
Guitarist Mike Haliechuk says, "I wanted to see what I could record in one day. After you’ve been in a band for this long, you lose track of what your sound actually is. Twenty-four hours can feel like a long time, but you can get a lot done then, too. It can feel like forever and one minute at the same time. If you work on something for one day, it can end up being really special."
Drummer Jonah Falco adds, "This record is about how we see time passing in our lives. It represents the realisation of what Fucked Up’s songwriting process has always been, which is the genesis of an idea from one person spread to other members. All of the development happened spontaneously with this album, which meant no time to second-guess. You had to be confident."
