Emmett Kelly, Ty and Denée Segall announce new album as The C.I.A. with lead single "Impersonator"
The C.I.A., aka Emmett Kelly, Ty Segall and his wife Denée, have announced their forthcoming album Surgery Channel, and have shared "Impersonator" as the lead outing.
"Impersonator" is The C.I.A.'s first new material since their 2019 self-titled debut album, and is accompanied by a trippy video directed by Joshua Erkman and Denée Segall, which sees Denée's face covered by projections of Miss Piggy, Pinhead from Hellraiser, Gollum, Chucky and more.
The track will appear on The C.I.A.'s forthcoming album Surgery Channel, which was written in 2021 and recorded at Ty Segall's Harmonizer Studios with Mike Kriebel.
Surgery Channel will be Ty Segall's first album since July's "Hello, Hi".
"Impersonator" is out now. The C.I.A.'s Surgery Channel album will arrive on 20 January 2023 via In The Red Records, and is available to pre-order now.
