Emma Anderson teams up with Julia Holter on new single, "Taste The Air"
Lush co-founder Emma Anderson has collaborated with Julia Holter on her new single, "Taste The Air".
The new collaboration is a rearrangement of the track from the Lush co-founder’s acclaimed debut solo album Pearlies.
“I love Emma’s voice and the dreamy atmosphere of ‘Taste The Air’,” says Julia Holter. “It was so fun to counterpoint the mesmerising vocal layers with rhythmic elements. I was honoured to fly through the clouds.”
“This mix is more or less a complete deconstruction,” adds Emma Anderson. “It hints at the original track, but the parts are replaced by playful piano and stabs of strings and keys. Most notably there is so much space. I was absolutely thrilled when Julia said she would do a mix as I’ve been a fan since her 2015 album Have You In My Wilderness and I was lucky enough to see her live the subsequent year at La Route du Rock in Saint-Malo, France when Lush also played."
Julia Holter's mix of "Taste The Air" is out now.
