Ellie Bleach announces new EP, Now Leaving West Feldwood
Ellie Bleach has announced her second EP, Now Leaving West Feldwood, alongside the brand new single "Whole Lotta Nothing".
Ellie Bleach released a string of standalone singles in 2023, including "Lakehouse", and "Pamela".
"I wrote this track during a time I too was dating and feeling equal measures of cynicism and deep longing, two feelings at odds with each other and yet comfortable in their coexistence," explains Bleach. "I wanted "Whole Lotta Nothing" to sound like a dive bar at 3am, as if the narrator is singing to an empty room besides the janitor and barkeep. The ‘Limelight Motel’ where this song is set finds itself the backdrop to suburban melodrama, as it reveals another snapshot of the townsfolk residing in West Feldwood.”
The EP is an anthology of characters who all reside in the same town, with each of the five main tracks told from the perspective of a different character. The final sixth track, outro "Now Leaving West Feldwood" concludes the story with the town destroyed in an industrial accident.
