Dry Cleaning release new single "No Decent Shoes For Rain"
Dry Cleaning have released new single "No Decent Shoes For Rain" as the fourth single from their Stumpwork album that's out later this month.
"No Decent Shoes For Rain" is, according to lead vocalist Florence Shaw, "inspired by grief; grief over past relationships, grief for loved ones who have died, and all the things that come with that; loneliness, numbness, yearning, ruminating about the past," and arrives with a video made up of footage from the band's sessions at Rockfield, and from tour.
Stumpwork will also feature the group's earlier outings "Gary Ashby", "Anna Calls From The Arctic" and "Don’t Press Me".
The album will follow Dry Cleaning's 2021 debut album New Long Leg, and was recorded in rural Wales in late 2021 with producer John Parish and engineer Joe Jones.
"No Decent Shoes For Rain" is out now. Dry Cleaning's Stumpwork album will arrive on 21 October via 4AD, and is available to pre-order now. They'll play London's O2 Academy Brixton on 3 March 2023. Tickets are on sale now via drycleaningband.com.
