Dolly Parton wants Elton John to feature on her rock album
Dolly Parton has revealed that she's asked Elton John to feature on a cover of his "Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me" song that's due to appear on her upcoming rock album.
Last week on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Dolly Parton revealed that her upcoming rock album, titled Rock Star, will feature a few originals, as well as covers of songs by Led Zeppelin, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Journey and Lynard Skynard. The album, due to arrive in late 2023.
Rock Star is also due to feature Parton's version of Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", and while appearing on BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Parton said, "I just recorded, for my rock album, I did his song "Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me". I’ve sent out a message asking him if he would sing with me on it and possibly play the piano."
Earlier this month Elton John was announced as the first Glastonbury Festival 2023 headliner.
