Doja Cat teases fans about the details of her upcoming album
In a series of tweets, Doja Cat led fans on a wild goose chase of information about her forthcoming album, with fans questioning the truth in all of it.
Doja Cat has been trolling her fans over the past few months, teasing different genres that her forthcoming album would be. In September 2022, she revealed that she was making a "German rave album", before backtracking and saying it would be experimental jazz.
In a conversation with Variety, she revealed that she'd like to explore hardcore music. "I feel like we have enough pop-punk artists right now. And if there needs to be more, then let there be more, but I don’t think I’m the one to do it. I want to explore more of a raw, unfiltered, hardcore punk sort of thing. It’s just something that I’m doing for my own personal fun."
Late March, she teased the album name Hellmouth, and explored the idea of making music with a more rock-influenced sound. These rumours came about after a video resurfaced of Doja Cat playing a nu-metal version of her smash hit "Say So" at the European Music Awards in 2020.
Despite teasing fans, Doja Cat has consistently shared that the album will be predominantly rap-based. Taking to Twitter on Saturday (8 April), Doja Cat said that she will no longer be making pop music as it doesn't excite her, but also took the time to acknowledge the comments people have made about her rapping style.
i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I'm getting tired of hearing yall say that i can't so I will.

This tweet signalled the start of her trolling, with the announcement: "The whole album is no longer rap yall its rock/spoken word and the album title is not Hellmouth anymore", revealing that the new title would be Moist Holes; a "french conceptual experimental country/bohemian fusion with the essence of blue-grass".
After a series of jokes that she would be quitting music, Doja Cat signed off for the evening by saying that she would at least finish the album first.
jp ima finish this album yall dont worry. https://t.co/MNONEorWJv
