Doja Cat speaks out against injustices in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and the Congo at Global Citizen Festival
On Saturday (28 September) Global Citizen Festival returned to New York City’s Central Park, featuring talks and performances from Doja Cat, Post Malone, LISA, Benson Boone, and more.
The event is completely free, with tickets earned through actions on the Global Citizen which help support the cause in trying to end poverty, and protect the planet. Hosted by Hugh Jackman, with appearances from Coldplay's Chris Martin, and environmental activist Dr. Jane Goodall, the event saw performances from the likes of RAYE, Post Malone, LISA, and others.
During her headline set, which included songs such as "Say So", "Demons", "Agora Hills", and "Paint The Town Red", Doja Cat took a moment to spread awareness about the devastation and wars that are taking place around the world.

"Right now, millions of men, women and children in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, the Congo and all across the world, are suffering. In times like this, it is important to remember that we have the power to bring change, love light and hope to those who need it most," Doja Cat said to the crowd.
Explaining why she chose to partner with Global Citizen, she then implored viewers to carry on spreading awareness, and aid in any way they can to alleviate suffering around the world: "Please keep using your voice to help those fleeing violence get the food, shelter and education they need and very, very much deserve. There is a beauty in strength in all of you who are watching this, and who choose to be here tonight. This is our time to put it into what matters most, and that is life."
