Doja Cat says she wants to put out some standalone singles before her next album
Doja Cat has revealed that she wants to release some standalone singles before her next album.
Doja Cat hasn't released new music since her Elvis biopic track "Vegas" landed in May, and after trolling followers on Twitter about the genre of her Planet Her follow-up, Doja Cat has revealed that she'd like to put out some standalone singles before her next album.
She told Dazed, "I think what I’ve fallen into is controlled chaos. I’m crazy about putting different genres into the same album or even into the same song."
On her future plans, Doja Cat said to expect "a bouquet of things. There’s songs from a year-and-a-half ago that I made and I'm like, 'These need to come out.' I have a project that’s going to be quite consistent, hopefully, which is coming up next and is the real album, the real project. But before that, I would like to put out some singles that don’t really connect to it in any way. They’re just fun things that I would like to put out."
She added of her next album, "The album will come and it’ll be its own moment on Earth."
In October Top Dawg Entertainment's Punch revealed that Doja Cat might appear on a remix of SZA's "Shirt".
