Demae reinterprets "Love Like This" by Faith Evans
Demae has returned with "Love Like This", which is a reinterpretation of the 1998 Faith Evans classic.
"Love like this was a staple track for any family/friend bbq wedding or birthday party in the 90s. Borrowed from chic in the height of the R&B sample era, Faith Evans really made the song her own while paying homage to the ones before her. I'd like to say I'm doing just the same. To all the influences and the amazing powerhouses I grew up listening to, this is my homage to my own flare and style to a great classic," Demae says.
"There's something about that chorus; the melody always stuck with me," she continues. "Even if I went years without listening to the song, it would still find its way back to me. Back in 2017, during my Bubblerap SoundCloud era, Jake Milliner sent me this instrumental, and I instantly knew I had to cover Faith Evans. I had a period where I was obsessed with recreating existing music, finding new ways to make it sound different to the original. The rest is history, and I’m so glad it’s finally seeing the light of day."
