De La Soul's "The Magic Number" arrives on streaming platforms for the first time ahead of back catalogue
After announcing that their back catalogue will be coming to streaming services for the first time in March, De La Soul have released their 1989 hit "The Magic Number" on DSPs.
At the start of the month De La Soul announced that their first six albums will be coming to streaming platforms for the first time ever on the 34th anniversary of their 1989 debut album 3 Feet High and Rising, and today (13 January) "The Magic Number", which featured in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, has landed on DSPs for the first time.
As well as giving their catalogue a digital release following a long catalogue dispute, De La Soul will be issuing exclusive merchandise, vinyl, CDs, and cassettes.
DJ Maseo says, "It’s been 20 plus years overdue, but finally, we are here."
"The Magic Number" is out now. De La Soul's first six albums will be available on streaming from 3 March. They'll play London's Royal Albert Hall on 8 April. Visit wearedelasoul.com for more information and tickets.
