Dave Rowntree releases new single "Tape Measure"
Dave Rowntree of Blur has shared a fourth outing from his debut solo album Radio Songs titled "Tape Measure".
"Tape Measure" is the fourth single to be lifted from Rowntree's upcoming debut solo album, following the release of "HK", "Devil's Island" and "London Bridge", and features vocals from Juliyah.
Rowntree says of the single, "Anxiety - an unpleasant emotion of inner turmoil and dread. We're fundamentally herd animals, whose main defensive tactic is running away and hiding. We've no sharp claws or teeth to fight with. So we're over sensitised to danger. We see shapes in the shadows, faces in the fire. Disaster always lurks on the grey edges of our consciousness. On the upside, come the zombie apocalypse, we anxious people will already be in hiding, leaving all you smug normies to have your brains eaten."
Last week Blur announced a one-off reunion show at Wembley Stadium for next summer, which will mark their first headline show in over seven years.
"Tape Measure" is out now. Dave Rowntree's Radio Songs album will arrive via Cooking Vinyl on 23 January 2023, and is available to pre-order now.
