Dave Grohl performs "Marigold" for first time in over a decade during virtual charity concert
During his performance as part of the Letters To Santa virtual charity event, Dave Grohl played the beloved deep cut "Marigold" for the first time since 2010.
After kicking off the 2022 edition of The Hanukkah Sessions with Greg Kurstin on Sunday (18 December), Grohl took part in the 24-hour music marathon benefit Letters To Santa, and treated viewers to a number of tracks that haven't had a live outing in many years. One of those was "Marigold", which hasn't been performed live since 2010.
Grohl also played "New Way Home" and "Skin and Bones", as well as Foo Fighters classics "Times Like These" and "Everlong".
According to a comment from his daughter Violet on Instagram, Grohl played the virtual set using her guitar.
At the end of his set, Grohl auctioned off a signed drum head, with all proceeds going to Letters To Santa, a "nonprofit organisation that was founded to give direct assistance to economically disadvantaged families."
The Letters To Santa music marathon benefit also features performances from Lou Barlow, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Ty Segall and Jeff Tweedy.
Last night (20 December) Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin recruited Inara George to cover 10cc's "The Things We Do For Love" for the third night of their 2022 Hanukkah Sessions.
