Dave Grohl hints at secret Foo Fighters set at Glastonbury Festival 2023
In a handwritten letter posted to Foo Fighters social media accounts, Dave Grohl has added fuel to rumours about a secret set at Glastonbury Festival.
His statement to fans read: "Every night, when I see you singing, it makes me sing harder. When I see you screaming, it makes me scream louder. When I see you your tears, it brings me to tears. And when I see your joy, it bring me joy. But, I see you… and it feels good to see you, churning up these emotions together."
Fans couldn't help but notice the words "churning up", and are now speculating that Foo Fighters are the secret band set to play Glastonbury Festival once again.
The band have just wrapped up their first run of shows, with their new live drummer Josh Freese, in celebration of their 11th studio album, But Here We Are.
Foo Fighters have just poured a gallon of rumour-fuel on the already very strong speculations of them being the mysterious 'Churnups' band billed for this year’s #Glastonbury Festival – after including the sentence “churning up these emotions” in a new thank you letter… 🤔💌🔎🔥 https://t.co/LUoASerzAi pic.twitter.com/dq9EFMFkFb

The full Glastonbury 2023 line-up and stage times detailed that The Churnups would be performing at 6.15pm on the Friday, playing the Pyramid Stage before Royal Blood and a headline set from Arctic Monkeys.
Many fans had been speculating that the performance could come from Pulp, because, "when something is churned, it becomes pulp", but the letter from Grohl appears to confirm that it's actually going to be Foo Fighters.
The timing of The Churnups performance at Glastonbury happens to be the anniversary of when Foo Fighters made their festival debut, and some die-hard fans have revealed that Grohl used to play in a band called Churn.

Dave Grohl joined Sir Paul McCartney as a special guest in 2022. It was the first time he had appeared on stage since the death of the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Foo Fighters headlined the festival in 2017, having had to pull out two years before when Dave Grohl broke his leg, and they were subsequently replaced by Florence & The Machine.
Glastonbury 2023 takes place from 21-25 June at Worthy Farm. Visit glastonburyfestivals.co.uk for more information.
