
Damon Albarn honours De La Soul's Trugoy the Dove with piano loop tribute
Damon Albarn has paid tribute to De La Soul's Trugoy the Dove, who died aged 54 yesterday, with a piano loop shared on Instagram.
Yesterday (12 February) De La Soul's co-founder Trugoy the Dove, real name David Jude Jolicoeur, died aged 54. Following various online tribute messages from Kaytranada, Pharrell, JPEGMAFIA, Chuck D and many others, Damon Albarn has shared a musical tribute in the form of a piano loop on Instagram.
News of Jolicoeur's passing comes just over a month after De La Soul announced that their first six album will be arriving on digital streaming platforms for the first time ever next month to coincide with the 34th anniversary of their 1989 debut album 3 Feet High and Rising. The trio were due to play London's Royal Albert Hall on 8 April, but it's currently unknown if it'll still be going ahead.
De La Soul's first six albums will be available on streaming services from 3 March.
