Coldplay's Chris Martin reveals he only eats one meal a day because of Bruce Springsteen
In the latest episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast, Coldplay's Chris Martin reveals that he follows a strict diet of one meal a day thanks to Bruce Springsteen.
Yesterday (22 March) the latest episode of the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast landed, and saw O'Brien speaking to Coldplay's Chris Martin about each member's different creative strengths, having the same "work complaints" as Beyoncé, and following Bruce Springsteen's strict diet.
When asked about if he's received advice from fellow musicians he's had dinner with, Martin replied, "Well funnily enough I don't actually have dinner anymore. I stop eating at four [pm], and I learned that from having lunch with Bruce Springsteen."
Martin went on the explain how Springsteen is a hero of his and how he loves him and a his wife Patti Scialfa, and how he was "lucky enough" to have lunch at their house after playing in Philadelphia. He continued, "I was on a really strict diet anyway, but I said 'Bruce looks even more in shape than me', and Patti said 'he’s only eating one meal a day'. I was like ‘well, there we go. That’s my next challenge'."
When asked if he saw what Springsteen's one meal a day was, Martin replied, "The chef came out and said 'today we have flank of buffalo with a steroid sauce'."
Earlier this week US President Joe Biden awarded Bruce Springsteen with a National Medal of Arts, and said that some people are "born to run".
