Christine and the Queens releases new single “A day in the water"
The song is the final taste of a 20-track record that is a departure, not only thematically, but also sonically from Chris’s prior albums and takes direct inspiration from Tony Kushner’s play, Angels in America.
“A day in the water” is the fourth track to be released from the album, following “Tears can be so soft”, the "True love (feat. 070 Shake)”, and the lead single “To be honest".
Chris says: “The song is about that feeling of being deep in the water when you feel the world cannot touch you anymore. It’s behind the glass of your own melancholia but in that deep dive of vulnerability hopefully the light arrives. The light of honesty.”
The track is released alongside a Vevo Studio Performance.
PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE, is Christine and the Queens' fourth studio album, following 2022's Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue), 2018's Chris, and the 2014 debut, Chaleur Humaine.
PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE, is due out this Friday (9 June) via Because Music.
