
Charlotte OC processes deep grief on new single, "God, We Tried"
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Charlotte OC has made a return with the new single, "God, We Tried".
"This song is deeply personal to me, I started writing it after my dad passed away. In my grief, I ended up in a relationship that probably wasn't the healthiest choice for me, and I wasn't truly allowing myself to heal. If I think about it, all I wanted was a male figure in my life, to fill a void," Charlotte OC explains. "'God, We Tried' reflects the end of that relationship and the emotional complexity of trying to make something work when it really wasn't right. It's about love, loss, and the struggle to move forward while still processing deep grief."
Speaking about the video Charlotte adds, "Shooting the artwork and video around my hometown of Blackburn was an incredibly meaningful and cathartic experience. I wanted to show some love to my hometown and all its facets that have shaped my identity, telling the story of how coming back here helped me regain clarity after the car crash of a time I had in London."
