Charli XCX shares manifesto for Brat: "The angels are ready and waiting. This is the moment"
Taking to her private Instagram account, Charli XCX shared the manifesto that she wrote for her latest studio album, Brat.
"The artwork for Brat will be obnoxious, arrogant, and bold. Some people will hate it. It will be heavily text-based, either font on a plain background or painted on a wall or disregarded object," she wrote, sharing the vision for the now-iconic artwork to her sixth studio album, Brat.
Charli goes on to explain that she wants to cultivate "desire, chaos, and destruction" in the album rollout, focusing on "low art and celebrity" as a means of making the whole thing "high art" as she delves into celebrity culture. "You need to understand my vision. This is global. I will provide momentum and tell the story in a laser-focused way".

Last week, it was revealed that Charli XCX was given an additional Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package, specifically being added to the category due to the Art Direction on Brat. The new nomination means that Charli XCX has received eight nods from the Recording Academy, and is among the second highest nominees, behind Beyoncé who has eleven nominations.
With more than 100 publications, blogs and magazines’ end-of-year lists, Brat has been revealed to have taken the top slot as the critics' choice in the aggregated top 50.
