Charli XCX says she's writing a book but there's "no deadline"
Charli XCX has revealed that she's been writing a book in her own time, and there's currently "no deadline".
Charli XCX hasn't released new music since July's Bodies Bodies Bodies song "Hot Girl", and in a new interview with NME, she revealed that she's been slowly writing her own book, but it isn't going to come out anytime soon.
She revealed that she doesn't want to share more information about it "in case it turns out to be really shit," but confirmed that she has turned to Nick Grimshaw (who released his Soft Lad book this week) for advice.
"I was so into it, and then I hit a wall and haven’t touched it since," Charli XCX said. "I got my agents all riled up, sent them four pages, and then ghosted them. I was asking Grimmy about the process, and he said you kind of have these moments of lightning bolt inspiration, and then you kind of put it down. When the time pressure’s on you, then you really do it full steam, so maybe I’ll be a bit like that? There’s no deadline."
Earlier this month Charli XCX appeared on the Dua Lipa: At Your Service podcast, and named Alex G, daine and more as artists she thinks will be big in the coming years.
