Charli XCX to drop in at Pop Never Dies for Brat playback tonight
Charli XCX is set to make a special appearance at Best Fit's spin-off club night Pop Never Dies tonight to mark the release of new album Brat.
The record, which drops this Friday, will get a full play at midnight following a Brat-themed edition of the monthly pop night at The Lexington venue in London.
Charli teased the appearance earlier this week on the 360_brat Instagram account, asking fans "tell me what everyone's planning for brat release thursday night, i'm trying to party with you...if you're throwing a brat themed night... tell me... if you're throwing a cute house party... let me know... i want it all!!! lets rave :)"
She confirmed the appearance in a post to her Whatsapp community this morning.
“It feels so surreal that Charli is coming to Pop Never Dies, but at the same time I’m not surprised," Pop Never Dies host DJ Matthew Kent says. "It’s so on-brand for her, the whole brat era is about chaos and that is what we thrive on. I’ve been a fan since her early mixtapes and have run into her at shows and parties over the years, so this feels like such a full-circle moment that she’s a fan of what we do…”
Free tickets for the Brat-themed edition of Pop Never Dies are still available via Dice; the club returns for another Charli-themed night on 22 June and there are further editions on 7 June (Pop Never Dies - Taylor’s Version) at The Waiting Room, 29 June (Pop Never Dies - London Pride) at The Lexington, and 20 July (This Party Is Killing You!: The Robyn Party) at The Lower Third. More details over on the Pop Never Dies instagram.
Release day will also see Charli hosting the special PARTYGIRL show at London's Outernet, with a b2b DJ set from 10pm to 4am. AG Cook and George Daniel are among the guests expected to appear at the sold-out event.
