It's a Brat winter as Charli XCX scoops the most nominations for this year's BRIT Awards
In a shock to nobody, Charli xcx leads the nominations at this year's BRIT Awards in five categories including Best Song, Artist and Album.
She's also up for Best Pop Act and Best Dance Act, while last year's Rising Star winners The Last Dinner Party are named in four categories, including album, group and new artist. Partisan-signed Ezra Collective are also four-times nominated.
It's largely a fallow year for the likes of Dua Lipa whose mediocre Radical Optimism record is somehow nominated for Best Album and goes up against Songs of a Lost World by The Cure, Dance, No One’s Watching by Ezra Collective, Prelude To Ecstasy by the Last Dinner Party as well as Charli's brat.
In other pleasant surprises are nominations for Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, Adrianne Lenker, Rachel Chinouriri, Amyl and The Sniffers and Fontaines D.C.
The BRIT Awards takes place on 1 March at the O2 Arena in London and ahead of that, Charli xcx will head to the Grammys where she's nominated eight times – including album and record of the year.
