Céline Dion reschedules 2023 European tour following stiff person syndrome diagnosis
Céline Dion has postponed her 2023 European tour dates to 2024, revealing in a video that she's not "ready to restart" her tour due to being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.
Earlier today (8 December) Céline Dion shared an emotional video message on socials, announcing that she's pushing back her spring 2023 European tour dates to 2024 due to being diagnosed with a "very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome."
Dion explained that stiff person syndrome has been "causing all of the spasms I've been having," and explained how the "spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I'm used to."
She continued, "It hurts me to tell you today that this means I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February."
"I have hope that I’m on the road to recovery," Dion added. "This is my focus and I’m doing everything that I can to recuperate."
Dion's 2023 European tour, which was originally due to take place between February and April 2023, has been rescheduled for March 2024. Dion has also cancelled her 2023 tour dates between May and July, but shows taking place between August and October 2023 will remain the same. Visit celinedion.com/in-concert for more information.
