Cate Blanchett joins Sparks on stage at Glastonbury Festival
Glastonbury Festival is well known for its secret sets, and surprise guests, alongside a whole host of performances from the hottest talent around.
Cate Blanchett joined Sparks on stage to perform their track, "The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte", taken from the album of the same name, which was released earlier this year.
The performance marked a throwback to the song's music video, which features Blanchett wearing the same outfit of a yellow suit, a buttoned-up black shirt, dark-framed glasses, and red headphones.
Before inviting her on stage, Singer Russell Mael told his audience: "Hopefully as many of you know we have a brand new album, it just came out a couple of weeks ago. We have a super special treat tonight... We did a video for this song recently and we had the great honour of having the great actor Cate Blanchett join us – where are you Cate Blanchett."

At the end of the performance, Blanchet huddled up with Sparks to get a photo taken, and the person behind the lens was Hollywood director Edgar Wright, who is best known for Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, and Baby Driver.
Sparks' Ron and Russell Mael told Variety earlier this year that a chance encounter with Blanchett at a film festival led to her appearing in the video. "When she first heard [the song], she said, 'I'm laughing and I'm crying at the same time,' and I thought that was a really apt comment about this song," Russell said. "We didn't even know she was gonna necessarily be dancing. It was more like 'Come and stand in our video' – you know, that would've been fine too. But that was what she felt like doing to that song."
