Cassyette reflects on the death of her father on new single, "When She Told Me"
Nu-gen trailblazer Cassyette has shared the brand new single, "When She Told Me", lifted from her forthcoming debut album, This World Fucking Sucks.
Following the release of lead singles "Why Am I Like this?" and "Ipecac", as well as a support slot on Bring Me The Horizon’s UK arena tour, Cassyette has shared the brand new single, "When She Told Me".
Speaking about the personal single, Cassyette said: “When She Told Me is about the moment my mum told me we lost my dad. It was the worst moment of my life. My vision literally flipped upside down. I didn’t find out until recently that this is a stress response where your body is about to shut down. It felt unexplainable and this song is as close as I got. If you know this feeling this is for you"
Speaking about her debut album, This World Fucking Sucks, Cassyette said: "I’m so excited for the release of my first album. I’ve put in so much work and I’ve collaborated with so many amazing and talented people and I’m so grateful to see it brought to life. Since my Dad’s passing, I’ve tried my best to not surrender to the darkness that comes with grief. It’s from that darkness that ‘This World Fucking Sucks’ was born, and I really hope to do him proud, and that anyone that’s going through the same thing takes comfort in listening to it. We’re in this together.”
Cassyette is set to embark on a massive UK and European headline next month. Kicking off in Cardiff on 1 April, the tour will be her biggest yet with 17 dates across Europe, including shows in London, Paris, Berlin and more.
This World Fucking Sucks is set for release on 23 August via 23 Recordings. To pre-order, and for more information on her forthcoming tour dates, visit cassyette.co.uk.
