Cardinals share final album preview, "Twist and Turn"
Ahead of their self-titled debut EP landing tomorrow, Cork five-piece Cardinals have shared the opening track, "Twist and Turn".
Euan Manning had the following to say about their latest: "To me Twist and Turn is a song about how writing has become a highly therapeutic practice for us all. It’s got some poppy melodies and a danceable backbeat, the lyrics though, they’re all about grief. I wanted to have a song where the tambourine is the main instrument."
It’s a collection of songs that were written when we were living and playing in Cork City. It’s pop music at its core, personal, youthful, and, if you can see past the chaos and noise it’s extremely warm. There’s a narrative if you’ve got the heart to look for it. It’s our first EP and we’re looking forward to it being out there for everyone to hear," the band adds.
Cardinals is set for release on 7 June via So Young Records, and is available to pre-order now.
