Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are set to reunite on new track, "Bongos"
The forthcoming release will mark the first time the pair have worked together since the iconic hit "WAP" was released in 2020.
Cardi B took to her X (Twitter) account to announce the forthcoming collaboration, alongside its artwork.
“Bongos” is set to follow Cardi B’s recent standalone singles, “Hot Shit” from 2022, and 2021’s “Up.” It’s been five years since her 2018 debut album Invasion of Privacy came out, and Cardi B hasn't given us any reason to believe that a second one is on its way, as opposed to another string of successful singles. She recently put out “Jealousy” with Offset, “Put It on da Floor Again” with Latto, and “Point Me 2” with FendiDa Rappa.
Cardi B recently made headlines for launching a microphone into a crowd during a concert in Las Vegas, after a concertgoer threw a drink at her, whilst she was performing the track "Bodak Yellow".
The recovered microphone was then auctioned by the owner of an audio equipment hire company, who said all profits would go to charity. Scott Fisher told CBS he had initially hoped the bidding would reach $5,000.
After receiving more than 120 bids, the microphone sold for $99,900 on Tuesday evening after the listing closed. The proceeds from the mic are being split evenly between Friendship Circle Las Vegas, which helps children, teens, and young adults with special needs, and the Wounded Warrior Project – the nonprofit organisation that helps veterans and active duty service members, seller Scott Fisher wrote on Facebook after listing the microphone on eBay.
"Bongos" is set for release on 8 September.
