Caity Baser joins forces with Oh Wonder on new single, "Running From Myself"
Caity Baser has shared the brand new single, "Running From Myself", which was co-written with Oh Wonder.
"I was in the studio with Oh Wonder working on some songs and one of us said “it feels like you’ve been running from yourself”...and inspiration struck. This song includes the lyric “I ripped myself up into two / the bad for me, the good for you” - There have been times throughout my career when I would feel very sad or emotional about certain things, and I felt that I couldn't tell anybody, because everyone had this idea of me that I'm this confident, ‘I don't give a fuck, nothing gets to me’ type of person - when actually that could not be further from the truth," Caity Baser explains.
"People have told me that I've helped them with their confidence or to get over their exes, or feel amazing about themselves. For that I'm so grateful, but I felt like I'd have to put on a bit of a mask at times. It is who I am – I'm very energetic and silly, but then also, there's times where I don't want to be that. This is one of those songs that makes me want to just run as fast as I can - and scream," she continues.
"Running From Myself" is out now via Capitol Records.
