Burna Boy lifts his hometown with new single, "Higher"
Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy has released "Higher" – an inspirational new song aimed at elevating his hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
This release is particularly special as it aligns with his ongoing efforts through Project PROTECT, a pivotal initiative he founded to provide financial, medical, and legal assistance to communities affected by systemic violence and poverty.
The "Higher" music video, which premieres today, documents Burna Boy’s emotional return to Port Harcourt, where he engages in community upliftment activities. The video directed by Burna Boy and Asurf, captures moments from his visit to his childhood home and local villages where he, alongside volunteers from Project PROTECT and The R.E.A.C.H., distributes essential supplies. This collaboration also highlights their joint educational and healthcare initiatives, including significant contributions to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
The R.E.A.C.H. (Reach Every Available Communal Household) and Project PROTECT have been instrumental in implementing sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life in over 21 communities, touching more than 11,000 lives directly. This video not only showcases Burna Boy’s philanthropic efforts but also inspires higher thinking and selfless acts within the community.
