Britney Spears has announced a "secret project" which is said to be her biopic
Variety has confirmed that Britney Spears has sold the rights to her memoir, The Woman In Me, and a biopic is in the making.
The biopic based on her recent memoir, The Woman In Me, will be created alongside Wicked director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt. Spears announced the "secret project" yesterday afternoon via social media.
Promising to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” according to a press release from Gallery Books, the memoir put a spotlight on the “enduring power of music and love and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”
Excited to share with my fans that I've been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt. He’s always made my favorite movies … stay tuned 🌹🎥

Last year, Spears collaborated with Elton John on “Hold Me Closer" – a reimagined duet of his classic “Tiny Dancer", which was among a string of singles including the Dua Lipa collaboration, "Cold Heart", and Rina Sawayama's "Chosen Family". The track was Spears' first release in six years
She has since collaborated with will.i.am on "Mind Your Business" as their second release following 2013's “Scream & Shout", and she recently mentioned that she wants to collaborate with Jay-Z on Beyoncé's track "Daddy Lessons" which features on her Lemonade album. Though also recently revealed that she will never return to the music industry.
There is currently no release date or casting information on the biopic.
