Britney Spears announces her highly-anticipated memoir The Woman in Me
Britney Spears has finally announced the title and release date for her highly-anticipated memoir The Woman in Me.
In 2021, Britney Spears finally won the battle of ending a court-ordered conservatorship, which had been in place for over 13 years, at her father's request.
Promising to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” according to a press release from Gallery Books, the memoir is said to put a spotlight on the “enduring power of music and love and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”
The Woman in Me is said to be a “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope".
“Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher, said in a statement. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”

Last year, Spears collaborated with Elton John on “Hold Me Closer" – a reimagined duet of his classic “Tiny Dancer", which was among a string of singles including the Dua Lipa collaboration, "Cold Heart", and Rina Sawayama's "Chosen Family".
“Hold Me Closer” was Spears’ first new music in six years, and it became her 14th top-ten single on the Billboard Hot 100, bringing the pop star into rare territory as only the 12th artist to have that achievement across four decades. Her last full-length studio album, Glory, was released in 2016.
The Woman in Me is set for release on 24 October, and is available to pre-order.
