Bloc Party unveil surprise single, "Flirting Again"
Bloc Party have unveiled a brand new single "Flirting Again", ahead of their biggest headline show to date at London’s Crystal Palace Park on 7 July.
“"Flirting Again" is about being thrust back into the scene and trying to remember how it all works,” says Kele Okereke. “It's about trying to appear desirable, whilst at the same time hiding the hurt that defines you. We are all carrying around the various scars that we have accumulated over the years, the heartbreaks that have come to shape how we give love and receive love. This song is about picking yourself up and carrying on.”
Earlier this year, Bloc Party made their 2005 single "Two More Years" and Little Thoughts EP available on digital streaming platforms for the very first time. Two original B-sides for the single - "Hero" and the Streets’ remix of "Banquet" - are also available, marking the first phase of releases that will see Bloc Party release a large selection of rare songs, deep cuts and fan favourites available to streaming services, ensuring their complete catalogue is available to fans.
