BLACKPINK have declined to renew solo contracts with YG Entertainment
Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé – AKA one of K-pop's biggest groups BLACKPINK – have declined to renew their individual contracts with label/agency YG Entertainment who they have worked with since 2016.
The news comes just days after Jennie announced her own company, Odd Atelier, which she says is "a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected".
Earlier today, YG Entertainment issued a statement confirming that the band will not be renewing their individual contracts. This follows news from a few weeks ago that BLACKPINK had signed deal to remain with the agency.
“Blackpink recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for individual activities,” the new statement says. “We will do our utmost to support Blackpink’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts.”
