black midi bassist Cameron Picton "blindsided" by "indefinitely over" revelation by frontman Geordie Greep
Yesterday evening, black midi's Geordie Greep went on an Instagram live and shared an update about the band's future.
Over the weekend, Greep went live on Instagram and left a comment: “Black midi was an interesting band that’s indefinitely over". This was picked up by black midi bassist Cameron Picton who wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “We’d agreed to not say anything about ‘breaking up’ so I was as blindsided as everyone else last night but maybe in a different way. I guess sometimes all you can say is lol”.
Yeah, kind of a bummer

The now-deleted tweet was captured and posted into a black midi sub-reddit, which also contains a screenshot of Greep's original comment. Last month, Greep announced a three-date solo residency at Map Studio Cafe in London, which could be why he feels the band are "indefinitely over".
The band's last album was 2022's Hellfire.
