Billy Nomates unveils new single "spite"
Billy Nomates has unveiled a new single titled "spite" as the fourth taster of her upcoming second album CACTI.
Following the release of "saboteur forcefield", "balance is gone" and "blue bones (deathwish)", Billy Nomates has delivered a fourth cut from her upcoming second record titled "spite", which lands with a NWSPK-directed video.
CACTI will follow Billy Nomates' 2020 self-titled debut album, and was recorded at Invada Studios.
Billy Nomates, aka Tor Maries, says of the album, "Writing CACTI took just over a year. I wrote very intensely and then none at all. (This seems to be the way I work best). I picked up old drum machines, mapped out things in my kitchen with the same small micro keyboard I always use and then raided the cupboards and rooms at Invada Studios, to play and experiment with old synths, an upright piano, this weird organ thing. I hope everyone finds their own narrative in CACTI. I think it's about surviving it all."
"spite" is out now. Billy Nomates' CACTI album will arrive via Invada Records on 13 January 2023, and is available to pre-order now. She'll play a sold out show at London's Village Underground tonight (22 November).
