Billie Eilish, Jerskin Fendrix and Mark Ronson nominated for 2024 Oscars
The nominees for the 2024 Oscars have been revealed, with nominations expectedly going to the most-talked about films of the past year, including Oppenheimer, Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things.
Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Oppenheimer, and Poor Things have all been nominated for Best Picture, but there is a lot of discussion about Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie being snubbed in other categories such as Best Director, Best Actress, and also Best Score, due to the soundtrack to Barbie breaking records at the GRAMMY Awards with the highest number of tracks nominated across all categories, and also boasts the most songs nominated from a soundtrack in GRAMMY history.
The film is nominated for two Oscars in the Best Original Song category, with “What Was I Made For?”, by Billie Eilish and Finneas, and “I’m Just Ken,” Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Elsewhere in the music categories, Jerskin Fendrix is nominated for Best Original Score for Poor Things, following being longlisted for a BAFTA Award, earlier this year.
The 96th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 10 March, in Los Angeles.
