Beyond The Music Festival announce a day of free entry live music in Manchester's city centre
As part of their first ever edition spanning 11-14 October, Beyond The Music and LUSH have teamed up to announce ‘Music For Everyone’, a groundbreaking day of free entry live music in Manchester.
Manchester-based Beyond The Music Festival, will bring four days of live music, a series of conferences, discussions of ownership, equality, sustainability, and more. Music For Everyone takes place on 12 October, supporting grassroots venues and artists while providing free access for everyone for an opening day of new music discovery across the Northern Quarter.
The announcement is accompanied by news of an official partnership with BBC Introducing Live, who will curate stages, panels and educational workshops alongside other influential tastemakers like SXSW, The Face, Speedy Wunderground and Heavenly Recordings.
BBC Introducing has announced the return of BBC Introducing Live, partnering with Beyond The Music to curate a panel about UK music’s talent pipeline and the development of new artists, featuring industry entrepreneurs, execs and artists. Plus there will be a day of live music at the iconic Band on the Wall venue showcasing the cutting-edge talent and eclectic mix of genres that reflect the thriving Manchester music scene and its cultural renaissance. Acts already confirmed include July 7, Wooze, Walt Disco, Cody Frost and L’Objectif.
Speaking about today’s new announcements, Beyond The Music founder Oli Wilson says: "We've got the best new and breaking talent playing the best venues in the best city in the world, and we're so glad to be able to share it with everyone. Thanks to Lush we’re able to make new music discovery something everyone can take part in, joining us on our mission in supporting grass root venues, new artists and the local music ecosystem.”
This news was joined by a number of exciting editions to the lineup, including the likes of Maruja, Aziya, and Brian Nasty, who will join the likes of Tokky Horror, Walt Disco, Viji, Human Interest, Cody Frost, Junodream, and The Orielles.
The festival has also launched a Pay It Forward system in order to maximise accessibility for those who are hoping to advance their career within the music industry, but may not be able to afford the full ticket price.
First wave tickets for the full festival & conference, across 11th - 14th October have now sold out. Next wave tickets will be available from 31 August via beyondthemusic.co.uk.
