Beyoncé threatens Trump with cease-and-desist over use of "Freedom" in his campaign
Beyoncé is the latest artist to threaten legal action against Donald Trump for unlawful use of music in his presidential campaign.
On Wednesday, Trump's spokesperson Steven Cheung posted footage of Trump in aide of his campaign, with Beyoncé’s Lemonade track “Freedom” as the soundtrack. Rolling Stone reports that Beyoncé did not give permission for this, and is threatening a cease-and-desist. "Freedom" has been cleared for use as part of Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, so it is unlikely that Beyoncé would've also given the all-clear for her opposition.
Since his campaign began, Trump's team have used songs from Johnny Marr, Céline Dion, Isaac Hayes, and Sinead O’Connor all without permission.

Beyoncé has not shared a statement on the cease-and-desist.
