Béyonce pays $100k for Metro to run for an extra hour following delayed show in Washington, DC
Beyoncé has pledged to pay $100,000 for the local subway service to run for an additional hour, ensuring the safe return of fans to their homes following her stop on the Renaissance tour.
On Sunday evening, Beyoncé was set to perform at the FedExField in Washington D.C as part of the Renaissance tour, however she was forced to postpone the show for almost two hours after a shelter in place order was issued as a result of severe weather conditions.
Following the conclusion of the show, Beyonce provided fans with an extra hour of train service to make sure concertgoers got home safely. It has been reported that she paid $100,000 to keep 98 stations open, for fans to exit as close to their home as possible, whilst Morgan Boulevard – the closest station of FedExField – was the only station that they could enter from.

It has also been reported that she handmade Emmy trophies for those involved with the making of Homecoming, which focused on her iconic Coachella headline show. The entire film is written, executive produced and directed by Beyoncé herself.
