
Beyoncé announces Renaissance Act II at the Super Bowl
In a series of teaser videos during the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, on Sunday evening, Beyoncé announced the second act of her Renaissance trilogy.
The sequel to Renaissance, was teased as a country album. Alongside the announcement of the forthcoming release, Beyoncé has also shared two singles – "16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em” – which are available exclusively on streaming service Tidal.
In the advert, Beyoncé was shown trying to find ways to break the internet by making a film called Barbey; creating a hologram called Beyonc-AI; showing herself running a presidential campaign for Botus, and also as the first woman to perform in space. Following this, she says: “OK, they ready. Drop the new music.I told y’all the Renaissance is not over.”
When she released Renaissance in 2022, the album was accompanied by a letter in the liner notes, which read: “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.”
Following the release of her seventh studio album, Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammys won by an artist in the award show’s history. She also released the concert film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.
Beyoncé is set to release Renaissance Act II on 29 March.
