BBC announces Stormzy TV and radio specials and first play of new song "Holy Spirit"
BBC has announced some Stormzy specials coming to TV and radio this month, as well as the first play of his This Is What I Mean track "Holy Spirit".
After announcing This Is What I Mean and sharing the lead single "Hide & Seek" last month, BBC has announced some special programmes coming to TV and radio throughout November, including a first play of a new song titled "Holy Spirit", which will be premiered on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James on 15 November.
The TV programme will be a 45-minute special that will see Stormzy in conversation with Trevor Nelson. It will also feature an exclusive performance from Abbey Road Studios, where he'll perform three songs from his upcoming album, as well as two tracks from his catalogue.
Trevor Nelson says of the interview, "I first interviewed Stormzy in 2014 for his debut Live Lounge at 1Xtra and I haven’t interviewed him since then. When I met him he was the hottest new MC in the UK and now he has become a cultural icon. I’m really looking forward to hosting this show and to being able to chat to him once again."
As well as having "Holy Spirit" premiered on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James, 15 November will also see the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2 and 1Xtra Breakfast with Nadia Jae play performances recorded exclusively for the BBC. Clara Amfo will also air a new interview with Stormzy on her Future Sounds show on Radio 1 the same day.
on Tuesday 15 November at 8.10am Radio 1 Breakfast with Greg James will play the world-exclusive of Stormzy’s album track ‘Holy Spirit’ while The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show & 1Xtra Breakfast with Nadia Jae will play performances which have been recorded exclusively for the BBC
