Bat For Lashes shares details of new EP, The Dream Of Delphi (Harp Visions)
London-based musician and multi-disciplinary artist Natasha Khan – AKA Bat For Lashes – has announced a new EP drawn from her sixth studio album, The Dream Of Delphi.
After seeing globally acclaimed harpist Lara Somogyi perform in London earlier this year, Natasha Khan was inspired to incorporate the harp into alternate arrangements of tracks from her new album. Eventually the pair duetted in Kingston’s St John’s Church at the Dream of Delphi launch show, and Khan visited Somogyi’s home studio in Joshua Tree this summer to arrange the full 5 track EP and five accompanying instrumental versions.
“It was really fun working with Lara on this collection of songs to recreate something so musically improvised and all over the place.” explains Natasha Khan; “Lara brought her own beautiful versions of the piano chords to the studio, and when she played them I was so touched it made me cry to hear it. So pure and vulnerable.”
